We offer customization based on small reflow ovens.
There are some problems that simply cannot be solved with standard machines.
In selecting heating equipment, including reflow ovens, many sites encounter problems when trying to apply commercially available equipment.
• We want to directly heat three-dimensional or thick objects, not substrates
• Applying strong hot air causes misalignment, deformation, and quality defects
• Using mass production equipment in the evaluation and prototyping process is not practical
• Standard machines cannot keep up with condition reproduction and control
These challenges can only be solved by “designing equipment to meet the specific needs” rather than simply “choosing existing equipment.”
Antom’s customization (made-to-order machine) service exists precisely for this purpose.
Why Antom Customization is Chosen
For half a century since its founding, Antom has developed and manufactured a variety of heating equipment, and has also provided custom-made heating furnaces for special applications.
Recently, we have been manufacturing bottom contact heating furnaces (hot plate heating), conveyor-type aging furnaces for automating batch-type ovens, and heating devices tailored to customer requirements.
The photo below shows an image of a hot plate reflow (heating furnace), which is very effective when directly heating workpieces with large heat capacity.

Conventional reflow ovens and ovens are designed to heat the workpiece by warming the air.
However,
• Thickness
• Structure that easily dissipates heat
For special workpieces such as these, air heating alone cannot overcome the challenges of insufficient efficiency and reproducibility.
Therefore, Antom proposes a solution called Hot Plate Reflow.
For example, when heating workpieces with extremely high heat capacity, such as power semiconductors (IGBTs), a conventional reflow oven using only non-contact top-mounted hot air cannot provide the necessary temperature to the heating area. Conversely, it can overheat the workpiece, causing unnecessary heat stress on areas that should not be heated.
Furthermore, in cases such as bumps, terminals, and localized soldering, it is not uncommon for the entire surface to not need heating.
In addition, during solvent drying and curing, applying strong hot air to the solvent before heating can cause the solvent surface to become wavy.
Therefore, a hot plate method, which heats the workpiece from below in contact with it, offers a solution compared to a method that applies excessive heat from above.
• Heating is possible with a gentle breeze or no breeze
• Prevents misalignment and parts flying off
• Allows for quick condition setting and is ideal for evaluation
Antom’s customization capabilities are a major strength in these kinds of specialized applications.
A design philosophy that starts with the problem, not with the device.
Antom’s customization doesn’t start with “We can make this kind of device”, but rather with “How do we solve this problem?”.
• What do you want to reproduce?
• What level of precision is required?
• Is it for evaluation or production?
Our specialized customization team carefully listens to these background details and designs the optimal device with the minimum configuration.
Furthermore, we don’t let custom-made machines end as “one-off” items.
This is also an important concept at Antom.
• Real-world requests from the field
• A new heating approach
These lead to:
• Development of new series
• Creation of derivative models
Therefore, we recognize that customization is an important step in creating the next standard model.
For those facing these challenges
• Ovens and manual methods do not produce reproducible results.
• Strong hot air cannot be used or desired.
• We are looking for the optimal heating device for the evaluation and prototyping process.
• Our “consultations” are not accepted.
These problems may be solved by “creating together” rather than “choosing (finding) a device.”
At Antom,
• Even if the required specifications are not yet finalized.
• Even if you are in a state where you “cannot put it into words.”
It’s perfectly fine, so we welcome you to start with a casual consultation.
“Standard reflow and heating equipment simply won’t do the trick.”
That’s where Antom’s customization comes in.
Furthermore, we offer not only optimization of the heating equipment itself, but also customization that includes conveyors and peripheral equipment, including pre- and post-processing.
For example, we can propose integrated designs that include input/output conveyors and inter-process transport equipment, tailored to the workpiece conditions (shape, etc.) and installation environment.

We also develop specially customized conveyors, such as heat-resistant conveyors connected behind reflow ovens and heating furnaces, and mesh-type cooling conveyors. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
First, check if your needs can be met with our standard specifications.
Even if you are considering a custom order, there are many cases where Antom’s standard specifications can meet your requirements.
We recommend that you first check Antom’s standard lineup of small reflow ovens, and then discuss customization as needed.
